Abstract
The physical conditioning programs related to G tolerance of pilots flying high - performance aircraft are very important. But these conditioning guidelines must be based on the data of physical fitness of the pilots wishing to enter an exercise program. The present study provided health-related lifestyles and norm-referenced standard of physical fitness of ROKAF pilots, and suggested the exercise guidelines. Of the pilots who completed the questionnaire, 58% reported regular physical conditioning, and about 40% didn¡¯t care their health. While they mostly answered that muscular training was more important to G-tolerance than aerobic exercise, they engaged much more in aerobic training, and also fighter pilots are less participated in weight training than transport pilots. In conclusion, we suggested isotonic weight training with the sufficient stretching exercise to minimize risk of injury. And in case of old age, obesity, and hyperlipidemia,
aerobic conditioning should be carried out as well.
